Parmesan, Prosciutto & Pasta in Parma

The three famous foods associated with Parma are Parmesan cheese, Prosciutto, and handmade pastas especially little filled ones, such as tortellini.
Outside of the city is Trattoria Antichi Sapori a refined restaurant. They offer fabulous dishes such as Parmesan gelato melted over eggplant in a nest of pastry and classic dishes like taglioni with octopus, shrimp and cuttlefish and oven baked potato gnocchi with onion marmalade. Try Sbrisolona for dessert. It’s an almond and polenta dish more cookie than cake.
At Pasticceria Torino you could breakfast differently every day for weeks and not repeat the dish you had the first day therefore it goes without saying that this a very popular place.
Ristorante Cocchi is Parma’s best restaurant and may be a bit hard to find but once you are there you will love it. Extremely professional staff wait upon all walks of life magnificently. Number one dish to try is called Strolghino made from lean leg meat, it’s a salami. It’s so tender and delicate and is the result of just 15-20 days curing. you just have to come here to savour all the other wonderful dishes which are served here.
La Greppia is one of the very best places to eat in Parma. The immaculate kitchen can be seen through an interior window, trolleys with cheeses, condiments and cakes run silently over the polished floors. chef is female and hires only female waiting staff. The food is fantastic the staff are unbelievable in their attention to diners every whim.
